After you have completed your order, you will receive an email acknowledgement of your request. Whilst we endeavour to keep the information on our website as up to date as possible, supplies of a few items are restricted and we also take orders by post. Before we accept your order in full we will check availability. We will email you an order confirmation with any variations necessary.
We regret that due to the cost of bank transactions we have a minimum order policy for online orders of £20
Post and Packing
Our prices all include handling, packaging and delivery charges to mainland destinations in England, Wales and Lowland Scotland. For orders over 2kg to the Scottish Highlands and Isle of Wight we will charge an additional £10 carriage. For orders of 2kg – 20kg to the Islands of Scotland we will charge an additional £16 carriage. Due to recent changes in regulations, we are currently unable to ship outside mainland UK, including N.Ireland.
FRA (Flat Rate Addition)
We are registered with the VAT authorities as “flat rate farmers”. This means that we charge our VAT registered customers a “flat rate addition” (FRA) of 4% on all our supplies. This can be reclaimed in the usual way. Non VAT registered customers do not need to add VAT or FRA. FRA registration No: FRF 10-000071
We aim to dispatch most orders within 2 working days of receipt of order and payment. Seed is sent by standard (2nd class) post or carrier which means most deliveries should arrive within 5 working days of receipt of order. Complex, unusual orders and bespoke mixtures may on occasion take longer. For time critical deliveries please contact us and we will do our best to help. Deliveries above £50 in value or 1.5kg in weight will usually need to be signed for, and may arrive at any time during the day, so you will need to be available. For orders up to £200 in value we can pass on your instruction to leave goods if you are out in a safe dry place without requiring a signature. The delivery will be recorded by our carrier and a record of delivery available to you online. As we will not obtain a signature from yourself we can only do this to your written instructions and entirely at your risk. We cannot accept any claim for lost or damaged goods in these circumstances and if our carrier are unable to follow your instruction and returns the goods to us any cost incurred will be chargeable back to you.
A guide to current availability can be found within the ordering box of each species page. This information is kept as up to date as possible but, as we also accept orders by post and other means, placement of an online order does not guarantee that we can supply. If there is a problem we will contact you to let you know without delay. All seed is offered subject to availability and being unsold at the time of ordering. To be fair to all customers we do not generally accept reservations of seed stocks pending a future order. Stock can only be allocated to confirmed orders. We are happy to hold seed once purchased in our store until required.
We hope that you will be fully satisfied with the seeds that we supply. If for any reason you have a problem with our products please do contact us and let us know at the earliest opportunity so that we can seek to resolve the issue. If we have made a mistake or our seeds are defective we will of course replace or refund the items concerned without delay. Depending on the nature of the complaint we may ask for the return of the goods in question. If you are returning an item because of an error on our part or because it is damaged or defective, we will refund the delivery charges incurred in sending the item to you and arrange collection or refund the cost of returning it to us.
Before returning seed or other products to us please first contact us to notify us so we can advise you on the best course of action.
