Silaum silaus – Pepper Saxifrage
Neither a member of the saxifrages or peppery to taste, pepper-saxifrage is a member of the carrot family. Its yellow flowers are arranged in umbels 20-60mm across and its lower leaves are much divided into narrow leaflets.

Habitat Information
Pepper-saxifrage is a plant of damp, unimproved grassland, normally on clay soils. Typical habitats include water meadows, hay meadows and lightly grazed, species rich pastures but it can occasionally be found in drier conditions such as road verges and down land.
Growing Information
Best sown in the autumn as seed requires a period of chilling to break dormancy.
